28 days or
100 maps

whichever comes first

Every other Tuesday or Friday a new map will drop to coincide with a new video. At that point, a countdown begins.

You’ll have 28 days to buy that map and be one of the first 100 people to purchase. After 28 days, or if 100 copies are sold, that’s it! The map is done and retired.

Why?

Geography and maps are temporal. As soon as you make it, it’s already out of date. And so each map made here is supposed to reflect the temporal nature of cartography. It’s a map of a place made during a specific time. When that time runs out… the map is gone! Except for those who purchased one.

How much and how big?

Every map is always $29.99 (or your country’s equivalent). No more. No Less. Shipping is extra and depends on where you live.

Every map is always 10 inches by 10 inches (25cm by 25cm). No smaller. No bigger.

The largest mountain in the Pacific Northwest. The most iconic symbol of Washington state. Mount Rainier is both a behemoth and a beauty. And so, to celebrate it, I've made a poster in a unique topographic line style that practically jumps out at you. If you love Mount Rainier, there's no better piece of art to have on your wall.

I've always loved mountain ranges. In particular, I love the Cascades, but a close second would be the Appalachians. They're just so incredibly important to the foundation of the United States and the indigenous people who used to live in them. And despite being a moderately sized mountain range today, they're actually far older than even the Rockies. So, for this reason, I'm happy that the Appalachians are my very first mountain based map! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it.

RETIRED MAPS

What is this?

Maps By Geoff is owned by Geoff Gibson, the creator behind the Geography By Geoff YouTube channel.

The goal is to deliver high quality, limited edition maps of the places that are featured on the channel. In this way, the people who really resonate with a video or place can take a unique piece of it with them.

All maps are available for a maximum of 28 days, or 100 copies. When either is reached, the map is retired.

In very rare cases, former maps may be revived.

All maps are designed by Geoff.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Maps By Geoff is a unique kind of map store. We sell one-of-a-kind maps made in limited quantities for limited periods of time. Every map is only available for a maximum of 28 days (4 weeks) or after 100 copies are sold. After that, it’s gone and retired.

  • Map stores are a dime a dozen these days. Pick a place and you can find maps of it in unlimited quantities. In this way, map art has become less special. Instead, what we want to do is curate a unique collection of maps for people who really really care about their place. So when they hang it up on their wall, they know they have something truly unique and one-(out of a hundred)-of-a-kind.

  • Geoff is the creator and mind behind the Geography By Geoff and GeoLex YouTube channels. But before he was a content creator on YouTube, he was a cartographer having worked as a visual artist and cartographer over many years. In this way, Geoff is able to return to his professional roots and do something he loves: make beautiful and unique maps about special places.

  • Depends on where you’re located! We are not Amazon so you shouldn’t expect to get your map within a few days. But it usually takes no more than a week. Our printer (see below) has locations all over the world and is therefor able to ship relatively quickly and easily.

  • We have partnered with Printful to handle all our printings. Their paper quality and printing process is really solid and we’ve been consistently impressed with the quality.

THAT SAID: we are looking at moving to a localized printer in the United States (preferably in Oregon) so if you know of one, hit us up below.

This question will be updated if we change printers.

  • Due to the limited edition nature of these prints, no refunds will be accepted.

Exchanges will be made only for documented printing issues. For example, if your print comes smeared or visibly distorted. In which case, please contact us below and we’ll issue you a replacement.

For this reason, if you’re at all worried you won’t like the print, please don’t buy it. You won’t get your money back if you don’t and you’ll have cost someone their chance at buying it for themselves.

  • Hit us up in the contact form below!
